Believe’s TuneCore Gives Artists the ‘Free’dom to Release Music Worldwide

TuneCore Announces first-of-its-kind free distribution plan

Part of the worldwide digital music business Believe, TuneCore was the first company to offer self-releasing artists a flat fee, pay-per-release distribution model when it was founded in 2001.

TuneCore has been a favorite platform for independent musicians since they started. TuneCore provides distribution, publishing administration, and a range of promotional services. TuneCore Music Distribution services help artists, labels and managers sell their music through all major DSPs: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, TikTok, Tencent, and more than 150 download and streaming stores worldwide – with creators retaining 100 percent of the artist’s sales revenue and rights for a low annual flat fee.

TuneCore Music Publishing Administration assists songwriters by administering their compositions through licensing, registration, worldwide royalty collections, and placement opportunities in film, TV, commercials, video games, and more.

With the trend in release strategies shifting from a few EPs, or one album per year to releasing singles regularly, TuneCore has created the Unlimited program. Artists now have more control over their career with the freedom to release an unlimited number of singles and albums.

Users of the free plan can upload music directly to social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube and start earning money  immediately as they crowdsource the popularity of the music directly with fans. Artists will be able to update their plan as they progress, to better fulfill their evolving demands.

The new Unlimited program gives artists more opportunities to create music and try out different release strategies to advance their careers and satisfy their expanding fanbases. Anyone can use the New Artist free plan or the Rising Artist $14.99 plan to get a taste of TuneCore’s distribution expertise and become eligible to up-stream into Believe Label & Artist Solutions or Believe Artists Services divisions’ ‘Signed By’ program, which has assisted over 400 other TuneCore artists across the world.

“We’ve spent a year speaking directly to artists and labels about how we can make our service better for them. What emerged is: artists want to be able to test their new music for free before distributing to all services and they want to release the music they are creating instantly, regularly, and seamlessly with one annual subscription enabling unlimited music distribution. TuneCore’s new program gives self-releasing artists at any stage of their careers the freedom to choose the plan that works best for them, while maintaining the high quality of service TuneCore is known for. With TuneCore Unlimited, artists pay less and earn more.” – Commented, Andreea Gleeson, Chief Executive Officer, TuneCore

Sylvain Delange, Managing Director, Believe Asia Pacific added, “In a region where fan engagement is essential for Artists, access to the right tools, resources and most importantly the ability to generate revenues on social platforms and DSPs with their music, without limitations is critical to fuel the growth of a healthier more diverse Independent Music Ecosystem in SouthEast Asia. TuneCore was the first DIY platform to offer a fully localized solution in countries like Thailand and Indonesia giving artists even better access in their home language.”
