Live Nation Eyes Asia Pacific Region With New Acquisition

U.S. Concert Giant acquires Philippines based Music Management International

In a move that signals Live Nation’s further expansion into Asia, Music Management International (MMI) has been acquired by the global entertainment giant. Formerly in charge of MMI-Philippines, Rhiza Pascua has been appointed Managing Director and will be spearheading Live Nation’s growth in the Philippines.

Live Nation

Live Nation is a global group of companies that brings more than 40,000 shows and more than 100 festivals to life every year. Selling more than 500 million tickets annually and employing over 44,000 people worldwide, the company’s portfolio includes Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts, and Live Nation Media & Sponsorship. With concerts and festivals returning, Live nation had a strong Q4 in 2021 with ticketing delivering its best quarter ever. 2022 looks to be even stronger for the company with over 45 million tickets already sold for 2022 shows.

Since its founding over 20 years ago, MMI, headed by Pascua, has been a driving force in the entertainment industry. Initially founding MMI in the 1990s from her home in California, Pascua began producing shows for visiting Filipino artists in the United States and built MMI into an influential concert and entertainment powerhouse. When world-renowned artists were not traveling to Manila, Pascua worked hard to persuade musicians, managers, and agents to put the spotlight back on the Philippines.

In recent years, MMI has helped to promote and build the vibrant local music scene. As the leading event coordination company in the region MMI has been responsible for bringing artist such as Madonna, Coldplay, U2, Harry Styles, Bruno Mars, Niall Horan, Maroon 5, The Chainsmokers, Dua Lipa, LANY and many more to the Philippines.

Roger Field, President of Live Nation Asia Pacific said, “Rhiza is a formidable operator and has put the Philippines firmly on the global touring map. We have a long-standing and successful relationship with MMI, and the launch of Live Nation Philippines is the natural next step in our committed growth in the Asia Pacific region. MMI adds another part to our network and our vision to deliver exceptional live entertainment experiences to music fans and more opportunities for artists to grow their audience across the world.”

Rhiza Pascua, Managing Director, Live Nation Philippines said, “Over the years, MMI has delivered industry-leading world-class services to attract the biggest and best talent to the Philippines. Through the launch of Live Nation Philippines, the sky’s the limit, and we look forward to bringing even more of the globe’s biggest stars and connecting fans with the artists they love and the magic of live.”
