Creamfields debuts in Thailand this month with a roster of Top 100 headlining DJs who know how to rock a crowd. While it isn’t Creamfields’ first foray into Asia, the UK-based festival celebrates its 25th anniversary as it makes its return to the region. The Thai debut is accompanied by a unique collaboration with local tech start up WIRTUAL. With a smart watch, attendees can ‘Dance to Earn’ with their favorite DJs and receive real rewards. Creamfields ticket holders will also receive special items that can be utilized in the WIRTUAL app. Applying these items to their WIRTUAL avatar will increase the maximum effectiveness of their ‘Sweat Mining’ and turn two days of raving into real rewards.
WIRTUAL offers several challenges, depending on the type of exercise that best fits your lifestyle. Running, walking, cycling, swimming, dancing, weightlifting, and even dancing are all challenges that can earn you WIRTUAL coins. With WIRTUAL Coins users can purchase event tickets, purchase physical items in the WIRTUAL shop, trade coins, receive coupons from sponsors, and buy NFTs. Users can even take their WIRTUAL Coins and trade them for other crypto coins. Recently the ‘Sweat to Earn’ platform listed on PankcakeSwap, a popular decentralized exchange where investors can trade crypto currency.
From its launch in March of 2022, WIRTUAL currently has 50,000 weekly active users from more than 150 countries – 40-50% of these users are from Thailand. WIRTUAL has also started partnering with other global brands to establish a presence in Bangkok. By providing a unique combination of ‘Fitness Challenges’ and ‘Quests’, users can exercise to earn product rewards and discounts. In Thailand, multinational corporations such as Garmin and Under Armor have already collaborated with the emerging startup to launch their brands in the region. Creamfields Thailand will run from 28-29 May 2022 at Nong Nooch Botanical Garden in Pattaya, in Chonburi.
